Twelve good-to-know features of Disney cruise line…see why you should experience a Disney cruise

1. Disney’s staterooms have a nautical theme and are spacious by industry standards. Regular cabins have lots of amenities which include wave phones, an in-room safe, a TV, and enough space for you not to feel cramped. In addition, the Oceanview staterooms have larger windows than similar staterooms on many other cruise lines. Each Inside stateroom has a "virtual" porthole showing ocean waves and Disney characters swimming by, all brought to you by a camera mounted outside the ship.

2. Disney Signature Statues

The lobby of each ship features it's own Disney character statue, presenting you with fabulous photo opportunities! The Dream has Donald Duck dressed in an admiral's outfit. Mickey is the main event on the Magic while Ariel is onboard the Wonder. The Fantasy’s atrium is home to a bronze Mademoiselle Minnie Mouse in a vintage costume.

3. Movie Theaters

The Buena Vista Theatres on these ships screen new Disney, Pixar, Star Wars, and Marvel films, along with some Disney classics. If you’re lucky, you could see a new movie premiere on a Disney ship! Sea days are the perfect time to catch up on recent Disney movies, with no extra charges.

4. Complimentary shows

Each Disney Cruise has its own original shows, specially created for families, with talented performers, elaborate sets & lively music. There are multiple performances with different show times so that you can fit them into your evening schedule.

4. There's a touch of Magic on every Disney ship..

Each ship has a statue on the outside rear of the ship.

Dumbo the elephant flies along the side of Disney Fantasy.

The Magic features Goofy painting the logo.

Mickey the Sorcerer shows off the Disney Dream.

Donald Duck hangs from the Wonder, while his nephew Huey attempts to cut his line.

5. Complimentary Room Service

Room service is always included in the Disney cruise fare, offering you the chance to relax on vacation with breakfast in bed or snacks on your veranda (just tip as much as you wish).

6. Deck Parties for the whole family

The spectacular ‘Sailing Away Celebration’ that guests enjoy after embarking on the ship is the first of many deck parties you can look forward to while aboard.

7. Themed restaurants and Rotational dining

Each unique restaurant really embraces the spirit of Disney, with loads of surprises. Dining arrangements rotate each night, which means that guests have the opportunity to eat at every restaurant onboard at least once. Animator’s Palate is a signature restaurant on Disney ships, dedicated to those who enjoy classic Disney films.

8. On-board Walking Tours

Your guides will share interesting trivia & many stories about the designs and various aspects of the ships. The exact timing of these tours is listed in the daily navigators.

9. The Carpets guide you!

You just have to look down and let one of the maps on the carpet orient you- if it is right-side up you are headed forward, if it is upside down you are headed aft i.e. to the back of the ship.

10. Disney’s fantastic Kids’ & Teens programs

These are so much fun that children beg to be dropped off to play, leaving parents free to relax!.  Kids will rush through dinner so that they can go back to their clubs for a dance, movie or other supervised activity. Disney even offers a dedicated kid’s club and activities on their private island.

11. What Disney offers Adults

If you think a Disney cruise vacation is just for kids, you are certainly mistaken.  All the ships have several areas just for adults. The Cove café coffee bars on all Disney ships serve specialty drinks, signature coffee, and tea only to adults. All the pastries & snacks are free here, though the beverages are not included in the cruise fare. The Quiet Cove adult's only pool, signature dining restaurants Remy and Palo, fitness centres and onboard Spas are also exclusively for adults.

The adult only zones include several bars and lounges with unique themes, and some offer a dance floor and live entertainment each night.

12. The Ceilings Match the Clientele!!

The floor with the kid’s clubs has lower ceilings than all the other floors. The ships' designers have built them this way because they wanted the kids to feel in control and comfortable in these spaces that were specially designed for them.
